Texas Drag Wars is returning to Austin, bringing together contestants from across Texas for an unforgettable night of talent, fundraising, community, and recovery.
Whether you're attending for the first time, supporting a contestant, or simply curious about the event, we've put together answers to the most common questions.
What is Texas Drag Wars?
Texas Drag Wars is a titleholder drag competition created to bring Recovery Communities together from different cities. The original slogan was "Bridging the Gap" helping drive connections in recovery and broadening the base foundation for everyone. Contestants whom have won drag titles in their home cities come together to battle it out by competing in multiple categories while raising funds to support the hosting city's recovery community. The event celebrates creativity, service, recovery, and the incredible talent found throughout Texas.

Drag Wars is the Saturday evening entertainment on the schedule for Austin Roundup Conference, occurring after the Conference Banquet dinner and is expected to start around 8:30 PM.
Do I Have to Register for Austin Roundup Conference to Attend Drag Wars?
No. This is the question we receive most often. While registration and badge is required to participate in the full Austin Roundup Conference programming, Texas Drag Wars is considered an entertainment section and FREE open to the public. Everyone is welcome. You do NOT need a conference badge to attend Drag Wars.
Our ARU Conference has attractive options you may want to consider, like adding the plated meals for lunch, Saturday Banquet and Speaker meetings. Find more info at: AustinRoundup.org
Hotel room discounts for any guest for Drag Wars or ARU Conference in the days before and after event. Please reserve room now. The hotel has the right to start selling our block of rooms to the public after June 17th, to make sure their hotel stays booked.

How Does Fundraising Work?
💁♀️💁♂️Fundraising is an important part of the competition. Each contestant receives a personal fundraising page where supporters can make donations directly to their campaign.
Contestants earn points through fundraising efforts, helping determine the overall competition results. This is nonprofit fundraising event. All fundraising benefits Austin Roundup, who uses the funds to support LGBTQ+ Recovery programming and community events.
Can I Donate Even If I Can't Attend?
Absolutely. Supporters can donate directly to individual contestants through
fundraising pages. Contestant fundraising links will be released as contestant announcements begin
Can I Tip Contestants During the Show?
Yes. Audience members have opportunities to support contestants with:
