#ACTUP The first #Pride was a Protest — as a direct response to systemic #OPPRESSION, most notably the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in New York City. On June 28, 1969, LGBTQ+ patrons of the Stonewall Inn & Allies, fought back against a police raid, sparking days of resistance.
