Executive Summary

Austin Roundup (ARU) is a self-governing organization directed by our board of directors and sustained by our dedicated volunteer committees. We are a collection of individuals and allies from the LGBTQ+ community who are actively engaged in recovery from addiction. We operate as a collaborative platform where our members share their diverse experiences, personal strengths and collective hope to support others navigating the recovery process.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide meaningful fellowship and robust service opportunities for recovering LGBTQ+ individuals and our allies throughout Central Texas. We fulfill this purpose by hosting strategic fundraising initiatives and inclusive community-building events.

Our Vision

Our vision is to cultivate an expansive network that disseminates recovery experiences, strengths and hope across various recovery perspectives, serving the Central Texas region and extending our impact beyond geographic boundaries.

Institutional Growth & Objectives

Established in 1999, we have demonstrated sustained growth over more than two decades, and we now average more than 150 attendees per signature event. We invite all community members, stakeholders and interested parties to participate in our upcoming events or establish direct contact with our leadership. Your active engagement directly supports us in achieving our primary annual objective: planning, funding and executing our premier recovery roundup conference in Austin, Texas.

Organizational Autonomy

We operate with strict organizational independence. We maintain no formal affiliation, endorsement or structural tie to Alcoholics Anonymous or any other specific 12-step recovery fellowship.
